Pearce, a standout quarterback and defensive halfback on two undefeated Northern High teams in 1934-35. He led the Saginaw Valley Conference in scoring in 1935 when he scored all but one of Northern’s touchdowns in Valley games. He starred on three Michigan State College teams from 1937-39. He was the only Spartan sophomore to letter in 1937 and played in the 1938 Orange Bowl against Auburn.
