Sventko was a long-time manager in the City Baseball League. At the time of his induction, his teams had won either the regular season or all season championship 22 times in 25 years. In 1975 his Bishop Construction team won the National Amateur Baseball Congress national championship in the Stan Musial Division. He was an outstanding player in the CBL.
