Outstanding reporter and columnist during 44 years at the Flint Journal, which included 19 years as Sports Editor (1959-78). Twice named Michigan Sports Writer of the Year (1966 & ‘69). Received Meritorious Service Award for outstanding contribution to golf from Michigan Professional Golfers Association in 1973. Was instrumental in the formation of the Flint Junior Golf Association which is nationally recognized as being one of the best programs of its kind. Helped to organize the Flint Bowling Hall of Fame and was inducted himself in 1975.
