Lake coached eight state high school championship teams, at Holy Rosary and Kearsley high schools. In the 1975-76 school year, her Holy Rosary teams won state Class D titles in basketball, volleyball and softball. She had two state titles in each of those sports at Holy Rosary and two state Class A volleyball titles at Kearsley. In 1979, Lake was national high school volleyball coach of the year.
