Furlow set basketball scoring records at Michigan State of 50 points in a game against Iowa in 1976 and 793 points in the 1975-76 season. An outstanding long-range shooter, he was the No. 1 draft choice of the Philadelphia 76ers in 1976 and also played with three other NBA teams. He led Northern High to the state Class A basketball championship in 1972.
