A four-year regular at the University of Michigan and an All-Big Ten Conference selection in 1955. First sophomore ever named most valuable at Michigan. Played in both the Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine all-star football games after final season at Michigan. All-State halfback at Central High and two-time All-Saginaw Valley Conference first-team selection. Led Valley in scoring in 1951.
