Sigman, Al

Mike Vance knew Al Sigman as a neighbor, co-worker and friend.

He also thinks Sigman is one of the best and most underrated coaches to ever work in the Flint area, which is why he nominated Sigman for the Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame. Sigman got the nod, and will join seven other individuals and three teams when the Class of 2013 is inducted Dec. 7.

Sigman, who died at age 75 in 2008, was a highly successful coach in multiple sports at Flint Central, Flint Northern, Carman- Ainsworth and Grand Blanc. He was also a two-year starter for the University of Michigan football team and played baseball for the Wolverines as well.
