Nominations for induction into the Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame can only be made online on the GFASHOF website (www.gfashof.org).
The GFASHOF Board will consider all nominations submitted prior to April 1st of each year for recognition at the annual induction banquet held the first Saturday in December.
Nominations can be made in each of the following three categories:
Individuals
Individuals nominated for Hall of Fame consideration must have demonstrated exceptional athletic achievement. Individual athletes and coaches who have excelled at the high school, college, professional, world, or Olympic levels would certainly merit consideration for induction.
Individuals currently serving on the GFASHOF Board or Selection Committee are not eligible to be nominated. Professional athletes are not eligible to be nominated until they have been retired from their sport for three years.
Teams
In 1992, the GFASHOF began the practice of recognizing teams each year from the Greater Flint Area that have established themselves with exceptional achievement at the local, state, and possibly the national level.
Distinguished Service
As the title would indicate, this award is designed to recognize individuals whose service, support, and leadership has contributed significantly to athletics in the Greater Flint Area.
No individual nominee will be formally inducted without his/her approval or the approval of his/her family, when appropriate.
