Decker attained legendary status coaching both boys’ and girls’ basketball at Fenton and is a member of two Michigan coaches hall of fame. In more than 30 years of coaching, Decker guided his teams to a record of 518-151. At Fenton his teams won 16 league championships, 24 Class B district tournament titles and five regional crowns. His boys’ teams reached the state tournament semi-finals twice and his girls team gained the finals in 1982.
