A high school standout at Fenton, Moore gained All-State honors in both basketball and softball. She was inducted into the Michigan State University Athletic Hall of Fame for softball. Moore was named athlete of the decade in softball at MSU from 1982-92. She was named MSU’s most valuable player in 1981. She was a first team All-America selection in 1983 and second team in ’84. Moore helped the U.S. team capture the silver medal in the 1983 Pan-American Games.
