Turner won eight major city golf championships during an exceptional career of more than 20 years including five City Amateur titles, the City Publinx and City Seniors. Turner was highly regarded throughout Michigan and winner of the prestigious State Armature Championship in 1952. Also, he was a multiple winner of the IMA Brookwood club championship.
