Kukulka coached Northern to a state record four successive Class A girls’ basketball tournament championships from 1978-81 and five consecutive appearances in the final game. She was named Associated Press state Coach of the Year in 1979 and 1980 after coaching Lady Vikings to back-to-back undefeated seasons that were part of a state-record 76-game winning streak. Kukulka had acareer coaching record of 189-37, for a winning average of .836.
