Pruitt was a catcher, third baseman and outfielder for four Major League Baseball teams from 1975-83 and had a lifetime batting average of .269. He was an All-American baseball player at Michigan State. At Central High he starred in baseball as a catcher, was outstanding in basketball, and was the All-Saginaw Valley quarterback in 1967.
