MacDonald was the nation’s leading small-college passer at Central Michigan University in 1950-51 and earned All-American honors. He was head coach at Northern Arizona University from 1956-60 and served as an assistant coach with three NFL teams. At Northern High, he was the quarterback from 1946-48 and head coach from 1956-60.
