Williams played linebacker in two Super Bowls with the Cincinnati Bengals during his 14-year career with the National Football League team. He led all players with 10 tackles in the 1989 Super Bowl, which was his last game. He was the NFL Man of the Year in 1986 for community service and one of Sports Illustrated’s Sportsmen of the Year in 1987. Williams starred at Southwestern High School and Dartmouth College.
