One of the outstanding golfers in Michigan history, Janet (Jennie) Barclay Weiss won the Women’s State Amateur Championship a record five times, 1936, 1939, 1940, 1941 and 1957. She recorded a record 40 match-play victories. Mrs. Weiss won several other titles and was inducted into the Michigan Amateur Sports Hall of Fame, prior to becoming a charter member of the Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame, Dec. 6, 1980.
